Former MMA fighter and now analyst Chael Sonnen shared his thoughts on the upcoming fight between Dustin Poirier and Benoit Saint-Denis, which will take place on March 10 at UFC 299 in Miami (USA).
Chael Sonnen
Poirier's an underdog, which is a colossal mistake. There is no justification for whoever set that line. They had better sit there crossing their fingers that they get that one right because there is nothing by the numbers they can point to. This is 100 percent predicated on the perception that one just got his hand raised at Madison Square Garden and one just got upset in Salt Lake City.
Poirier, 35, last stepped into the octagon against Justin Gaethje in July 2023 at UFC 291. That fight, which was stopped in the second round, ended in a knockout loss for Dustin. He has 29 wins and eight losses on his record.
Saint-Denis, 28, last fought against Matt Frevola in November 2023 at UFC 295. In that fight, Benoit won by knockout in the first round. He has 13 wins and one loss on his record.
