Former MMA fighter and now analyst Chael Sonnen is not sure that Colby Covington will return to the octagon after his loss to UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards.
Recall, on December 17 in Las Vegas (USA) at UFC 296 Covington lost to Edwards by unanimous decision of judges.
Chael Sonnen
He’s had three world title fights, he was an interim champion, he never lost, he woke up one day, he wasn’t the interim champion. I think that there’s some real frustrations. I just don’t know if he wants to start over. I don’t know that we see Colby Covington again.
Covington, 35, previously stepped into the octagon in March 2022 at UFC 272, defeating Jorge Masvidal via unanimous decision on judges' scorecards. He has 17 wins and four losses on his record.
Edwards, 32, last fought in March 2023 at UFC 286, defeating Kamaru Usman by majority decision. He has 22 wins and three losses on his record.
