Former MMA fighter and current analyst Chael Sonnen has spoken out about the future prospects of British UFC lightweight fighter Paddy Pimblett.
Bloody Elbow quotes Sonnen as saying:
Paddy The Baddy is two fights away from fighting for a world championship. I don’t see where his great striking is, but I’ve never seen him lose a kickboxing bout… I don’t get it – he was never a threat for any wrestling match in his life, but I’ve never seen getting out grappled.
Recall, on 28 July at UFC 304 Paddy Pimblett defeated Bobby Green with a first-round choke hold.
Pimblett previously stepped into the octagon in December 2023 at UFC 296, defeating Tony Ferguson by unanimous decision. He has 22 wins and three losses on his record.
Green last fought in April 2024 at UFC 300, defeating Jim Miller by unanimous decision. He has 32 wins, 16 losses and one draw on his record. One fight was ruled a no contest.
