Former MMA fighter Chael Sonnen reacted to the desire of former two-weight UFC champion Conor McGregor to run for the presidency of Ireland.
The next presidential elections in Ireland are scheduled for November of this year.
Chael Sonnen
There’s parts about Conor that I would definitely vote for, but there’s also a lot of people that I know in Ireland and they do not care for him. One of the very first things that he did is bought property elsewhere. Guys always try to make that mistake. They try to wave a flag over their head and then wave the Bahamas all over their social media. Wave a new boat they bought that they’re storing in Italy while trying to act—it’s just one of those things. So I don’t know that Conor could get elected and I don’t know that that’s my business. I don’t get a vote; if I did, I actually would vote for him.
Conor McGregor last fought Dustin Poirier in July 2021 at UFC 264. In that fight, Conor lost by technical knockout after breaking his leg.
McGregor made his UFC debut in April 2013 against American Marcus Brimage, winning that fight by technical knockout in the first round. He holds a record of 22 wins and six losses.
