Former UFC women's flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko shared her mindset for her upcoming bout with current division champion Alexa Grasso. The fight will take place on September 15 at MSG Sphere in Las Vegas (USA) and will be the co-main event of UFC 306.
Valentina Shevchenko
I did enough to win the fight. Knowing that my strategy is working, I don't have intentions to change anything. I'm going to bring my power and my speed and I'm going to bring my experience to the fight. The No. 1 goal what I have to do in this fight is to be myself. I don't have to play someone's game. Champion is who is playing their own game. I don't care what everyone is saying. I'm going to win the fight. I know for sure.
Recall, the first fight between Shevchenko and Grasso took place in March 2023 at UFC 285. Alexa won with a choke hold in the fourth round to earn the championship belt. In September 2023 at UFC Fight Night 227 they had a rematch, which ended in a draw.
Grasso's record includes 16 wins, three losses and one draw. Shevchenko has 22 wins, four losses and one draw.
