Former UFC flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko spoke out regarding the draw in her second fight against Alexa Grasso in the main event of UFC Fight Night 227.
Shevchenko said after the fight:
I think I won 3-2, but the judges apparently felt pressure because of Mexico's Independence Day and therefore gave another round to a fighter from that country. I expected a battle, and that's exactly what I got. We started a war, I went to the end, and I think I did enough. In a fair fight, in a fair competition I think victory would be mine.
Shevchenko and Grasso first met in March 2023 at UFC 285. This confrontation ended with Alexa winning by choke in the fourth round.
Shevchenko, 35, has 23 wins, four losses and now one draw. Grasso, 30, has 16 wins, three losses and a draw on her record.
