Czech UFC light heavyweight champion Jiří Procházka suffered a serious shoulder injury and was forced to withdraw from his title defense against Glover Teixeira, scheduled for December 10 at UFC 282.
According to Yahoo Sports, Procházka decided to vacate the title out of respect for the division's fighters. It is specified that Teixeira refused to fight anyone else, so the UFC fight between Jan Błachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev will be the main event of the tournament. Also, Błachowicz and Ankalaev will contest the vacant light-heavyweight belt.
The first fight between Procházka and Teixeira took place this past June at UFC 275. The Czech fighter won that fight by choking in the fifth round. Jiří had 29 wins, three losses and one draw. Glover has 33 wins and eight losses.
Procházka drops out of UFC 282 due to injury, now Ankalaev and Błachowicz will fight for the vacant title
