Top American lightweight division fighter Dustin Poirier has stated that the upcoming match with Frenchman Benoit Saint-Denis could be his last fight of his career. The fighters will meet on March 10th at UFC 299.

I look at it, fight to fight, man. I'm not even looking at the next fight [or] the next year. Every fight could be it [my last fight in MMA]. Where I'm at, [at] 35 years old, this is my 30th fight in the UFC, every fight could be it.
The 35-year-old Poirier's last octagon appearance was against Justin Gaethje in July 2023 at UFC 291. The fight, stopped in the second round, ended with Dustin's knockout defeat. He has 29 wins and 8 losses on his record.
The 28-year-old Saint-Denis last fought against Matt Frevola in November 2023 at UFC 295. He secured a victory with a knockout in the first round. He has 13 wins and one loss.
