The winner of the 2024 PFL season, Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov, shared in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net that he has no desire to seek revenge against Magomed Ankalaev for his loss in 2014.
– No, we're friends now. We've been training together for a long time. His team has helped me a lot. Back in 2014, I wasn't training seriously. We prepared for that fight in just two or three weeks. I only began preparing professionally after joining ACA. Before that, I was training casually.
– Was Ankalaev the strongest opponent in your career?
– I can't say. I've fought many strong opponents. At that time, we were both just starting out as athletes. Now Ankalaev is one of the top fighters in the world.
Just a reminder, back in 2014, Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov faced Magomed Ankalaev at the Oplot Challenge 103 tournament. After three rounds, the Russian fighter emerged victorious. Since then, Ankalaev has won titles in the WFCA and UFC, while Yagshimuradov has claimed championships in PFL, ACB, and ACA.
