Former ACA champion and PFL 2024 season winner Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net talked about his desire to meet American fighter Corey Anderson in the cage again.
"I want that. Due to certain circumstances, I wasn't prepared for the first fight. There was Covid-19. It’s impossible to have great training in such conditions. When I arrived in the USA three weeks before the fight, I was welcome, but I just couldn't adapt to America back then. Plus, before leaving for my fight in Connecticut, our flight was delayed for two days. I arrived and had to go straight into the fight. That’s not an excuse, but I had a long break, and a skillful opponent," said Yagshimuradov.
Also, my tactic was wrong. I should have fought him, but I wanted to show my technique. I didn’t consider the human factor, how slippery he could be. That affected me, but it's no excuse. Anderson won, no questions about that. Right now, he has little chance of repeating that success.
Recall that in 2024, Yagshimuradov won against Jakob Nedoh, Simon Biyong, Rob Wilkinson, and Impa Kasanganay, becoming the PFL lightweight season champion. He made his Bellator debut in 2021, suffering defeats against Corey Anderson and Karl Albrektsson.
