UFC light heavyweight champion Brazilian Alex Pereira expressed his desire to fight under the rules of professional boxing.
Alex Pereira said through a Portuguese translator to Essentially Sports:
Absolutely I want to express my will to go boxing one day. I think that this partnership of the UFC and boxing is a very good thing going for the sport. Many boxers say that MMA fighters cannot go toe-to-toe with boxing. Alex believe that not only him but many other [MMA] fighters could do that too.
We will remind, on October 5 in Salt Lake City at UFC 307 Pereira will fight against Khalil Rountree.
Pereira last entered the octagon in June 2024 at UFC 303, defeating Jiri Prohazka by technical knockout in the second round. He has 11 wins and two losses on his record.
