Russian UFC heavyweight Sergei Pavlovich has spoken out for the first time on his social media regarding his defeat to Alexander Volkov at UFC on ABC 6 in Saudi Arabia.
Sergei Pavlovich
It wasn't my day, nothing went according to plan. I was ready for anything, but I was too focused on getting a knockout and took too many unnecessary hits. The result was a loss by points... This was very emotional and tough for me, especially knowing that I didn't meet your expectations. Thank you all for your support! I promise to come back stronger and wiser.
On the night of 23 June, Volkov defeated Sergei Pavlovich by unanimous decision of the judges.
The 35-year-old Volkov previously stepped into the octagon in September 2023 at UFC 293, defeating Tai Tuivasa by choke in the second round. He has 38 wins and ten losses on his record.
Pavlovich, 32, last fought at UFC 295 in November 2023, losing to Tom Aspinall by first-round knockout. He has 18 wins and three losses on his record.
