Top Russian UFC heavyweight Sergei Pavlovich commented on the upcoming rematch between Tom Aspinall and Curtis Blaydes in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net.
Sergei Pavlovich exclusively for Telecom Asia Sport
The bout will be very interesting because these fighters have met before. I think Aspinall will have a mental setback because he lost his first fight, even though it was an injury. And Blaydes' mindset will be superior. But still, he will not be relaxed. We have seen that both of their teams work well. They will study each other thoroughly. It's a 50/50 fight, it will be interesting to watch.
Recall that the rematch of Aspinall and Blaydes will be the co-main event of the tournament UFC 304, which will be held in Manchester on July 28. At stake will be the title of interim champion in the heavyweight division.
The first fight of the rivals took place on July 23, 2022 at UFC Fight Night 208. As early as 15 seconds into the fight, Aspinall suffered a knee injury and was unable to continue the fight.
The 31-year-old Aspinall has 14 wins and three losses, while the 33-year-old Blades has 18 wins, four losses and one fight that was ruled a no contest.
