Former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira of Brazil revealed that he plans to fight for the title again later this year.
Charles Oliveira for AgFight
Islam will fight in February and I'll fight in March-April with someone to beat, that would put me in a title fight by the end of the year. I'm sure I just need one victory. I'll fight in March-April, and then I'll fight again for the title at the end of the year.
Oliveira fought for the vacant UFC lightweight title against Russian Islam Makhachev in October 2022. In that fight, Charles was defeated by a choking submission in the second round.
Last May, Oliveira was in the Octagon against American Justin Gaethje at UFC 274. In that fight, Charles choked his opponent in the first round. The Brazilian has 33 wins and nine losses under his belt.
