Former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira shared his future plans after his loss to Islam Makhachev at UFC 280.
Charles Oliveira
The truth is that Charles Oliveira is still a top contender for the belt. So, what we're going to do is go home, see my family, talk to my managers, assess the situation and then talk to the UFC a little bit. I don't have a lot of options. I'll go back home and I'll negotiate with the UFC from there.
Recall that on October 22 in Abu Dhabi, Oliveira lost to Makhachev by submission (arm triangle choke) in the second round.
Oliveira, 33, had his last fight in May 2022, at UFC 274, beating Justin Gaethje by submission (rear naked choke) in the first round. He has 33 wins and nine losses to his credit.
