Former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira has expressed his readiness to serve as an alternate for the fight between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler, set to take place in the welterweight category.
In an interview with Guilherme Cruz, Oliveira said:
Charles Oliveira
I offered myself to be the alternate for that fight, and obviously, I’m down for that. I’d make some money if I don’t fight and if I do fight then awesome. The only condition is if I were to fight McGregor then I’d have to re-negotiate that contract for it.
Recall that the McGregor vs. Chandler fight will happen on June 30 at UFC 303.
Oliveira's last fight was against Arman Tsarukyan in April 2024 at UFC 300. In that bout, which went the distance, Charles suffered a defeat by split decision. The Brazilian has 34 wins and ten losses to his name, with one of his fights declared a no-contest.
