On the night of June 11 at UFC 289, Amanda Nunes defeated Irene Aldana by unanimous decision of the judges. After the fight, Nunes announced she was ending her career.
Nunes, 34, defeated Julianna Peña by unanimous decision at UFC 277 in July 2022. She has 23 wins and five losses under her belt.
Aldana, 35, previously entered the Octagon in September 2022 at UFC 279, defeating Macy Chiasson by third-round knockout. She has 14 wins and seven losses under her belt.
