Eric Nicksick, coach of former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, has spoken out about his client's imminent return to mixed martial arts.
MMA Fighting quotes Nicksick as saying:
Knowing the competitor that he is, I [always felt] he's definitely going to fight again in MMA. Because of the freedoms that he has, he can always revisit boxing if there's a name that pops up. You never know, Turki might come in and get the UFC to get him to fight Jon Jones. You never freaking know with this sport what comes about. All options are on the table, man.
Ngannou will fight against Renan Ferreira at the PFL event on October 20.
Ngannou last fought against Anthony Joshua under boxing rules in March this year in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In that fight, which was stopped in the second round, Francis was defeated by knockout. He has 17 wins and three losses on his mixed martial arts record. Ferreira has 13 wins and three losses on his record, and his other three fights have been ruled no contest.
