UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou spoke about the knee injury that nearly took him out of his fight against Cyril Gane.
Francis Ngannou
We thought I might just collapse and drop out of the fight. But we decided to take our chances. I got injured on December 28. We were sparring. I think he get overwhelmed. He shot like...desperate takedown. Then, when I tried to turn around, I heard the crack on my knee. But I was so heated up I didn't pay attention.
Ngannou met Gane in the octagon this past January at UFC 270. That fight lasted the entire distance and ended in Francis' favor by unanimous decision of the judges.
Ngannou made his UFC debut against Brazilian Luis Henrique in December 2015. Francis won that fight by knockout in the second round. He has 17 wins and three losses under his belt.
