Ngannou: Ferreira is Very Serious, I Feel Like the Underdog

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou shared his mentality ahead of his upcoming fight against Renan Ferreira, where a special PFL Superfight belt will be on the line.

Ngannou stated, as reported by Bloodyelbow:

We don’t fight names, we fight talent and let me tell you something, this guy has talent, and from all my opponents I think he’s definitely going to be one of my toughest fights, let's just be serious here. For me, as I’m taking it, he’s very serious, I see this fight as the underdog, I feel like the underdog, yeah.

The fight between Ngannou and Ferreira will headline the PFL: Battle of the Giants event, taking place on October 19 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Ngannou last fought in MMA rules back in January 2022 at UFC 270, where he won against Ciryl Gane by unanimous decision. His record stands at 17 wins and 3 losses.

Ferreira last entered the cage in February 2024 during a joint event between PFL and Bellator, defeating Ryan Bader by technical knockout in the first round. He has a record of 13 wins and 3 losses.
