On the morning of June 17, Bellator 297 tournament took place in Chicago (USA), in the main event of which the light-heavyweight title fight between Vadim Nemkov and Yoel Romero took place.
The fight lasted the whole distance of five rounds and finished with Nemkov's victory by unanimous judges' decision: 49-46, 49-46, 49-46. Thus, Vadim defended his title for the fourth time in the light heavyweight division.
Nemkov, 30, defeated Corey Anderson by unanimous judges decision at Bellator 288 in November, 2022. The 30-year-old Russian has 16 wins and two losses under his belt.
Romero, 46, has not been in the cage since September, 2022, when he defeated Melvin Manhoef by third-round knockout at Bellator 285. He has 15 wins and seven losses under his belt.
