Top Brazilian UFC lightweight fighter Renato Moicano commented on his defeat to Russian Islam Makhachev in the championship fight for the lightweight title.
On January 19 in Los Angeles, USA, Makhachev secured a victory via submission in the first round during the main event of UFC 311.
Renato Moicano
I spent my whole life for this moment and I tapped in the first round. Islam was much better than [me] today. I had so much to say but that’s not the right time. I’m not done. I don’t know if I will ever get a chance like that again but I will try my best to do it.
Moicano's previous fight took place in September 2024 at UFC Fight Night 243, where he won against Benoit Saint Denis by technical knockout in the second round. His record now stands at 20 wins, six losses, and one draw.
Prior to this, Makhachev fought in the octagon in June 2024 at UFC 302, defeating Dustin Poirier by submission (D'Arce choke) in the fifth round. He holds a record of 27 wins and one loss.
