The MMA Fighting website recognized the current UFC middleweight champion, American Sean Strickland, as the best fighter of the year 2023.
Strickland will face South African fighter Dricus du Plessis in the octagon on January 21 at UFC 297 in Toronto, Canada.
Strickland last fought against Israel Adesanya this past September at UFC 293. In that confrontation, Sean won by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 28 wins and five losses on his account in mixed martial arts.
