Brazilian mixed martial artist Daiane Silva has fallen into a coma following a problematic weight cut ahead of her fight against Eman Almudhaf, scheduled for September 14 at the Bellator tournament in London.
According to MMA Nação, the promotion, Silva is still hospitalized in London.

Daiane had an accident as she made weight for her debut in Bellator in London. She was promptly seen by a doctor and was transported to a hospital in very delicate condition. She was admitted and has been kept in Intensive Care Unit since. She has been under carful medical treatment, and has been steadily improving. Bellator, myself, her team, her doctor and the medical team at the hospital having been working closely together to support her and help her get well.
It's important to note that throughout her career, Silva has competed in the lightweight division but chose to step down to featherweight, the move that affected her health negatively. She has a record of three wins and no losses.
