American UFC fighter Bryce Mitchell admitted he wanted to end his career after his loss to Spanish fighter Ilia Topuria of Georgian descent.
Bryce Mitchell, quoted by MMA Mania
I know I could have performed better. I'm in so much pain, and I don't think it's worth continuing. I want to quit MMA. I don't ever want to be in that much pain again.
Mitchell and Topuria met in the octagon Dec. 11 at UFC 282. In that encounter, Ilia won by submission in the second round.
Mitchell had a fight against Brazilian Edson Barboza at UFC 272 in March of this year. That fight lasted the entire distance and ended with Bryce winning by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 15 wins and one loss under his belt.
