Former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic shared his thoughts on his upcoming bout against current champion Jon Jones.
On the JAXXON PODCAST YouTube channel Miocic said:
I want this fight and I will just wait for it. I need this match. They (UFC) were talking about July, but that's no longer possible. I think we can meet in November in New York.
The Jones and Miocic fight was originally scheduled to take place at UFC 295 on November 12, 2023, in New York City (USA). However, shortly before the event, Jones suffered an injury and had to withdraw from the fight.
The 36-year-old Jones faced Frenchman Ciryl Gane in his last fight, which took place in March 2023 at UFC 285. In that confrontation, Jon won by submission (guillotine choke) in the first round. He has 27 wins and one loss on his record.
Miocic, 41, last fought in March 2021 at UFC 260, losing to Francis Ngannou by knockout in the second round. He has 20 wins and four losses on his record.
