Former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic has publicly apologized to the current champion, Jon Jones, for his disrespectful comments.
Miocic previously said in an interview with UFC, «Bring it on, b*tch.» Jones was not impressed, calling this unnecessary disrespect. Miocic and Jones will fight on the night of November 17 as part of the UFC 309 tournament in New York (USA).
Miocic said in an interview with Ariel Helwani:
He was just talking to me, I was talking to him. Bring it on. I’m sorry if I hurt his feelings, just fired up, you know? I wasn’t trying to disrespect him in any ways.
Jones last fought against Ciryl Gane in March 2023 at UFC 285. Jones won that fight by submission in the first round, becoming the UFC heavyweight champion. He has 27 wins and one loss.
Miocic last stepped into the octagon against Francis Ngannou in March 2021 at UFC 260. This fight, which was stopped in the second round, ended with Miocic being knocked out. He has 20 wins and four losses.
