Former UFC double champion Conor McGregor bet £60,000 that Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo would be the top scorer at the 2024 European Championships.
The odds were 15.00. If the 39-year-old Portuguese scores the most goals at Euro 2024, McGregor will win £900,000.
McGregor previously withdrew from his fight against Michael Chandler, which was scheduled to take place on June 30 in the main event of UFC 303 in Las Vegas, USA.
McGregor last entered the octagon against Dustin Poirier in July 2021 at UFC 264, a fight Conor lost by technical knockout after breaking leg. He has 22 wins and six losses on his record.
