UFC president Dana White announced that the fight between former two-division champion Conor McGregor and former contender Michael Chandler will take place in the lightweight division.

Yeah, it's going to be lightweight. I don't know yet. All I can say is people are going to love the Conor vs. Chandler fight. It will be an example of absolute brutality.
It was previously reported that McGregor and Chandler will serve as coaches on the 31st season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF).
McGregor, 34, entered the octagon in the main event of UFC 264, which took place in July 2021. The Irishman lost by first-round TKO to Dustin Poirier. Conor has a record of 22 wins and six losses.
Chandler, 36, last fought at UFC 281 in November 2022, losing to Dustin Poirier by TKO in the 3rd round. Michael has a record of 23 wins and eight losses.
