Former UFC welterweight title contender Jorge Masvidal has announced that he is still under contract with the promotion and plans to return to the octagon in 2025.
Journalist Jake Noecker posted the following message regarding Masvidal's comeback on social media:
Spoke with Jorge Masvidal who tells me he is still signed with the UFC and is planning to make his return to the promotion as soon as possible, like early 2025. Masvidal also believes he’ll be in immediate welterweight title contention and is excited to potentially face some of the new names at the top of the WW division.
It’s worth noting that in July 2024, Masvidal fought a boxing match against Nate Diaz, winning by a majority decision.
Masvidal has not competed in MMA since April 2023, when he lost to Gilbert Burns by unanimous decision at UFC 287. His record stands at 35 wins and 17 losses.
