We should remind, that on February, 12 Islam Makhachev had his first defense of the lightweight championship belt within the UFC 284 tournament, defeating Alex Volkanovski by unanimous decision of the judges.
Makhachev, 31, had previously appeared in the Octagon in October 2022 at UFC 280, defeating Charles Oliveira by submission in the second round. He has 24 wins and one loss under his belt.
