American fighter Derrick Lewis was arrested in Houston for speeding just days before his bout against Jailton Almeida, which is scheduled to take place at UFC Fight Night 231 on the night of November 5 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
According to ABC13, Lewis was driving at 218 km/h in a zone where the legal speed limit is 80 km/h. Derrick has now been released on $100 bail, but the fighter is scheduled to appear in court on December 27.
Lewis last fought against Marcos Rogerio de Lima this past July at UFC 291. In that confrontation, Derrick won by technical knockout in the first round. He has 27 wins and 11 losses on his record in mixed martial arts.
