Former Bellator welterweight champion Andrey Koreshkov gave an exclusive interview to Telecomasia.net, commenting on Andrey Pulyaev's fight against Christian Leroy Duncan.
"I watched the fight and noticed that Andrey wasn’t confident. It happened because he was too nervous, and he carried a heavy responsibility. It was his first fight in such a serious organization. Andrey put a lot of effort into his preparation and approached the fight responsibly. I can’t say he was unprepared, and honestly, his opponent wasn't stronger than him," Koreshkov said.
Andrey got extremely nervous, which probably held him back. Pulyaev is a young man, we'll work with him. I wanted to be present at the fight but couldn’t make it. I believe I could have given him some hints and guided him during the fight. He was too tense to show his true skills.
At UFC Fight Night 255 in London, Russian middleweight Andrey Pulyaev lost to Christian Leroy Duncan by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26) in his debut fight. Pulyaev's new record stands at 9-3, while Duncan has 11 wins and two losses.
