Former Bellator welterweight champion Andrey Koreshkov discussed his rival Jason Jackson in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net, ahead of their quarterfinal match in the PFL Grand Prix.
Andrey Koreshkov exclusively for Telecom Asia Sport
He's a good all-around fighter who can strike and grapple while defending against grappling. His strong point is his high fighting IQ. He prefers to grapple against good strikers and box against skilled grapplers. I’ve watched many of his fights. He defeated Douglas Lima and Paul Daley, and knocked out Yaroslav Amosov to take the title. He also beat Ray Cooper but lost to Ramazan Kuramagomedov. He’s a real strong all-around fighter.
To remind, on April 3, Koreshkov and Jackson will battle in the quarterfinals of the welterweight Grand Prix at the PFL tournament. Both fighters have held Bellator championship titles in this division.
Koreshkov's last fight was against Goiti Yamauchi in June 2024 at PFL 6, which went the distance and he won by unanimous decision. He now has 28 wins and five losses in mixed martial arts. Jackson has a record of 17 wins and five losses.
