Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov of Russia has requested five million dollars for a grappling bout with Canadian Georges St-Pierre. The head of B Team Jiu-Jitsu and two-time ADCC silver medalist Craig Jones said.
Craig Jones, quoted by Sportskeeda
I was with the [UFC] Fight Pass guys and they were trying to ask me for opponents for [Georges St-Pierre], like ideas. And I had no idea who would be [suitable]... Obviously I said Khabib, and I think they said Khabib wanted $5 million to do the grappling match. I was like, woah! Obviously that's priced himself out there.
Recall, on December 14, Georges St-Pierre will face Demian Maia at UFC Fight Pass Invitational 6.
St-Pierre, 42, had his last career fight against Michael Bisping in November 2017 at UFC 217. In that confrontation, Georges won by third-round submission. He has 26 wins and two losses on his record.
Maia, 45, had his last career fight in June 2021 at UFC 263, where he lost by unanimous decision to Belal Muhammad. In total, Demian has 28 wins and 11 losses.
