UFC No. 5 ranked UFC flyweight Kai Kara-France announced on his social media that he had suffered a concussion, and will not compete at UFC 293, where he was set to fight Manel Kape.
Kai Kara-France
Unfortunately, I’ve had to withdraw from my next fight in Sydney, Australia: UFC 293. I suffered a concussion over the weekend in training. I’ve been speaking to my coaches, my team, and my family. They all think it’s the right decision to put my health first.
Recall that on June 4, Kara-France held a bout against Amir Albazi. This confrontation lasted the whole distance and ended in favor of Albazi by a split decision of judges. He has 24 wins and 11 losses on his record.
Kape, 29, last fought David Dvorak in December 2022 at UFC Fight Night 216. Their confrontation lasted the entire distance and ended in favor of Manel by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 18 wins and six losses on his record.
