Jon Jones Mocks Colby Covington's Recent Loss: At Least He Got to See Me Win

UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones addressed his former friend and former interim welterweight champion Colby Covington.

Jon Jones on his X account
Big shoutout to Colby Covington for skipping training to get President Trump ‘ready’—we all appreciate the sacrifice. At least he got to see me win. That’s what I find the most hilarious, listening to what he’s gonna come up with next after getting his ass whooped. I know I shouldn’t but it’s just so much fun. It’s amusing watching someone you know hate you fail repeatedly.

On December 15 at UFC on ESPN 63 in Tampa, Covington fought Joaquin Buckley. In that match, which was stopped in the third round, Buckley won by technical knockout. His mixed martial arts record includes 21 wins and six losses, while Covington's record stands at 17 wins and five losses.

Jones last stepped into the octagon in November 2024 at UFC 309, defeating Stipe Miocic by technical knockout in the third round. His record is 28 wins and one loss, with one bout ruled as a no contest.
