Jamahal Hill Reacts to Runtree's Title Fight Despite Failed Drug Test

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill has responded to the news that Khalil Rountree will face current light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira on October 5 at UFC 307.

Jamahal Hill
Can’t believe what I just saw announced!!! So a guy pulls out of a contender fight because of failed drug test for a banned substances and gets rewarded with a title shot?!! This is terrible for the sport and makes the rankings completely pointless!!!

It’s important to note that Rountree withdrew from a fight with Hill that was scheduled for June due to a positive drug test. According to Khalil, the banned substance entered his system through a contaminated supplement.

Pereira last stepped into the octagon in June 2024 at UFC 303, where he defeated Jiri Prochazka via technical knockout in the second round. His record stands at 11 wins and two losses.

Rountree last fought in December 2023 at UFC Fight Night 233, winning against Anthony Smith by technical knockout in the third round. He holds a record of 13 wins, five losses, and one no contest.
