The fans in Australia are normal. I've seen mad ones like in Brazil - they are ready to kill for their fighter. Of course, in Australia they supported their fighter, but they didn't insult me either.
Makhachev last appeared in the octagon against Alex Volkanovski of Australia in the main event of UFC 284, held on February 12 in Perth, Australia. This confrontation lasted the whole distance and ended in favor of Islam by a unanimous decision of the judges.
Makhachev choked Brazilian Charles Oliveira in the second round at UFC 280 in October 2022. In his UFC debut in May 2015, Islam defeated Leo Kuntz by second-round choke. Makhachev has 24 wins and one loss to his record.
