French fighter Nassourdine Imavov spoke out about the conflict with American Chris Curtis, who seconded Roman Dolidze in the fight against Imavov.
Recall that during the fight, Nassourdine landed an illegal punch on Roman. After that, Chris started to strongly express his dissatisfaction. As a result, there was a verbal altercation between Imavov and Curtis.
MMA Junkie quotes Imavov as saying:
I was upset because the guy, Chris Curtis, kept talking in every fight he’s cornering. He keeps talking to me. This is not his job as a cornerman to talk to the fight. When I went into the cage against him, it was very silent. He got dominated and he even quit the fight because of the head butt. I just want him to stop talking and let me fight. Roman is a real warrior. He kept fighting even though he could’ve stopped fighting. I have a lot of respect – as opposed to his cornerman, who is a quitter, like Chris Curtis.
Imavov and Dolidze met in the octagon on February 4 at UFC Vegas 85 in Las Vegas. This fight went the full distance and ended in favor of Nassourdine by majority decision of the judges. He has 13 wins and four losses on his record. Roman has 12 wins and three losses.
