Irish welterweight Ian Garry shared his thoughts ahead of his upcoming fight against Brazilian Carlos Prates on April 27 at UFC on ESPN 66 in Kansas City, USA.
Ian Garry in an interview with Ariel Helwani
I’m of the most elite welterweights on the planet. So, if this man thinks he’s as good as he is, and when he steps across the octagon April 26 against me, that’s his do-or-don’t time. I promise you, you’ve seen it from me every time when I step into the octagon, I look phenomenal. And, I promise you right now, I promise you, I feel it in my heart, see it every time I close my eyes, I’m going to finish this guy.
Garry last fought Shavkat Rakhmonov in December 2024 at UFC 310. The fight lasted all rounds and ended in a unanimous decision loss for Garry. His record is 15 wins and one loss.
Prates last entered the Octagon against Neil Magny in November 2024 at UFC Fight Night 247. That fight was stopped in the first round with Prates winning by knockout. His record stands at 21 wins and six losses.
