Former UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway shared his expectations for the light heavyweight title fight between Alex Pereira and Khalil Rountree.
Holloway was quoted by MMA News as saying:
This fight is super interesting. Some of you might think I’m crazy because we’ve seen Khalil Rountree have both highs and lows. We’ve seen him lose to guys he shouldn’t have lost to. BUT this dude is an animal. He is pure violence. It’s going to be a violent fight between these guys.
Pereira last entered the octagon in June 2024 at UFC 303, where he defeated Jiri Prochazka by technical knockout in the second round. He holds 11 wins and two losses.
Rountree's last fight was in December 2023 at UFC Fight Night 233, where he defeated Anthony Smith by technical knockout in the third round. He holds 13 wins and five losses. One fight was declared a no contest.
