Holloway Not Planning to Retire After Loss to Topuria at UFC 308

Former UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway shared his future plans after suffering a defeat to current featherweight champion Ilia Topuria.

Holloway said at the press conference:

We're all going to sit down with the team, relax. There's nothing needed to be rushing back to right now. But I can try coming back in the summer, the big July card, right, in Vegas? We'll see what happens. I mean, 155 looks really good right now. I think 155 looks more fun, fighting more, the caliber, everyone there, and the names there, it looks really exciting to put my name in the mix. You guys are going to see me back. It's not a funeral. I promise.

On October 26, in Abu Dhabi, UAE, Holloway lost to Topuria by knockout in the third round.

Topuria’s last fight took place in February 2024 at UFC 298, where he knocked out Alexander Volkanovski in the second round. His record is now 16 wins with no losses.

Prior to that, Holloway fought in April 2024 at UFC 300, defeating Justin Gaethje by knockout in the fifth round. His record stands at 26 wins and eight losses.
