Former UFC featherweight champion American Max Holloway commented on the current generation of fighters and their methods of self-promotion before fights.
Sportskeeda quotes Holloway as saying:
I’ve been saying it coming all the way up to ‘The Korean Zombie,’ fighting guys like Korean, fighting guy like even Justin [Gaethje], we’re the last of a dying breed. You don’t need this sh*t talking, the way people are going, the way people are handling themselves on social media. I understand about trying to hype up a fight and sell pay-per-views, some people are crossing the line lately, and it’s just not cool.
Gaethje, 35, last fought in July 2023 at UFC 291, defeating Dustin Poirier by knockout in the second round. He has 25 wins and four losses on his record.
Holloway, 32, last stepped into the octagon in August 2023 at UFC Fight Night 225, defeating Chan Sung Jung by third-round knockout. He has 25 wins and seven losses on his record.
Recall, on August 26 at UFC Fight Night 225, Jung lost to Max Holloway by knockout in the third round. In a post-match interview, the Korean Zombie announced the end of his career. He has 17 wins and eight losses on his record.
