No. 7 in the UFC welterweight rankings, Irish fighter Ian Machado Garry spoke out about his possible fight against American Colby Covington.
Recall, earlier in an interview, Covington addressed his wife Garry, suggesting that she kneel before him and beg for a fight for her husband.
Ian Garry
I want to fight him because of the following he has, the respect on his name as one of the best fighters in this division and has been for a long time. I want to fight him because of all the sh*t that he has talked about me and my family, and I'm going to make sure that he regrets every word he's said. My whole goal when I fight Colby Covington is that he never puts on MMA gloves ever again.
Garry, 26, last fought in February 2024 against Geoff Neal at UFC 298. In that fight, Ian won by split decision. He has 14 wins and no losses on his record.
Covington, 35, last stepped into the octagon in December 2023 at UFC 296, losing to welterweight champion Leon Edwards by unanimous decision. He has 17 wins and three losses under his belt.
