BMF title holder and top UFC lightweight American Justin Gaethje has responded to a question about a potential third fight with his compatriot Dustin Poirier.
Gaethje defeated Poirier by knockout in the second round at UFC 291 on the night of July 30 in a rematch.
Justin Gaethje
In the cage after the fight, I (told Poirier), ‘Hey, man. Let’s both agree to never fight each other again. Unless you have to have it, then I’m here.’ But we’re 1-1, so we’ll see. I would never deny him the opportunity just like he didn’t deny me the opportunity. But I don’t want it to be my next fight.
Recall, the first fight between Poirier and Gaethje, held in April 2018 at UFC on Fox 29, ended with the victory of Dustin by technical knockout in the fourth round.
Poirier has 29 wins and eight losses under his belt. Gaethje, 34, has 25 wins and four losses on his record.
