Former interim UFC lightweight champion Justin Gaethje has spoken out regarding his possible fight against former double champion Conor McGregor.
At a press conference in Sydney Gaethje said:
I’d be lying if I didn’t say I dreamt of ending his career and making sure he’d never be able to step back in there. Chandler will now be the second guy that I beat that he chose to fight, and I think that speaks for itself. He won’t fight me, plain and simple.
McGregor last entered the octagon against Dustin Poirier in July 2021 at UFC 264, a fight Conor lost by technical knockout due to a broken leg. He has 22 wins and six losses on his record.
In July at UFC 291 in Salt Lake City (USA) Gaethje defeated Dustin Poirier by knockout in the second round. Gaethje, 34, has 25 wins and four losses.
