Former UFC bantamweight fighter Brazilian Felipe Colares died at the age of 29. As reported by Globo, on May 1, the athlete was hit by a bus in Guaratiba when he was returning from the gym.
The fighter's trainer, Rodrigo Babi, said the athlete died in an ambulance on the way to the hospital.
Colares had his last fight against Alioune Nahaye in February of this year at Ares FC 12. Felipe won that fight with a first-round choke.
Colares last competed in the UFC in May 2022. He was defeated by TKO in the third round by Chase Hooper. Felipe had 11 wins and four losses under his belt.
