Former 53-year-old MMA fighter Shannon Ritch fatally shot a 32-year-old Alejandro Samplina during an altercation over a parking spot. The incident occurred on June 15th in Phoenix, USA. This information was reported by Fox 10 Phoenix.
According to the fighter, he had to use his weapon because Samplina attempted to attack him with a knife. It is reported that Rich was released by the police after viewing security camera footage and questioning witnesses. The case will now be forwarded to the Maricopa County Prosecutor's Office for review.
Ritch's last fight was against Glenn Sparv in January 2020 at the Rebel FC 10 tournament. In this bout, which was stopped in the first round, Shannon suffered a defeat by submission. Ritch has 58 wins and 88 losses in mixed martial arts, with four of his fights being declared no contest.
