This wasn’t what MMA fans were expecting. Their matchup caused a lot of hype, but what it turned out to be… Shabliy wanted to fight, but he couldn’t. Usman maintained the distance, moved a lot, and avoided escalation. He scored points without exchanging blows. It was a correct tactic, but there was no excitement. Maybe Shabliy would have gone for it, but Nurmagomedov chose not to engage that way. The fight didn’t live up to the audience's expectations. Most likely, Usman's team aimed to secure a 'clean' victory, and they succeeded.
As previously mentioned, the fight between Nurmagomedov and Shabliy ended with Usman claiming victory by unanimous decision. The judges scored it 50-45, 49-46, 49-46. Nurmagomedov remains undefeated with 18 wins, while Shabliy has earned 24 victories and experienced four defeats throughout his career.
